Meet the Principal & Assistant Principals

Karolina GageKarolina Gage (Principal) is incredibly excited with her new role as Principal of Cesar Chavez Language Academy. Karolina has over thirty years of experience in education as an assistant principal, summer school principal, university lecturer, school leader and teacher, and has worked with Charter, Public, Dual Immersion, Elementary, Middle, K-8 and High Schools in the past. She was most recently an Assistant Principal at SRCS’s Herbert Slater Middle School and Santa Rosa High School. Previous to that, Ms. Gage worked at Animo Locke High School, in south central Los Angeles, and Long Beach Unified School District in southern California. She brings vast experience in the areas of staff development, standards-based instruction, technology integration, innovation, articulation, and organization.

Karolina believes in creating a school environment that promotes a rigorous academic atmosphere, and also creates bilingual, biliterate and multicultural quality education for all students. She herself grew up in a bilingual / bicultural household having been born to a Peruvian elementary school teacher and an Instrument Technician from Oregon, and lived in Peru for 8 years. She is a strong advocate for the LatinX community and is excited about her new adventure with CCLA! She has an open door policy and welcomes student, parent and community input partnering to enhance the student experience.

Jennifer DominguezJennifer Dominguez (Assistant Principal) is excited to join the CCLA community as the Assistant Principal.  She comes to us with over 20 years of experience working with youth and teens both in nonprofits and schools.  Before coming to Santa Rosa City Schools in 2013 she worked as a nonprofit leader focused on youth and teen services. In her director positions she supervised large staff teams and volunteers and was a lead trainer at a local and national level for Boys & Girls Clubs of America.  In her eight year tenure at Cook Middle School she worked as the Restorative Schools Coordinator, PE Teacher, Department Chair, and Leadership Advisor.  She found that her passion and experience were a perfect fit for a school community that needed connection, healing, and shift from zero tolerance discipline.  After receiving her administrative credential in 2021 she worked as the Dean of Students at Willowside Middle School but was excited at the opportunity to come back to her community at CCLA.  Jennifer is an enthusiastic educational leader that keeps relationships, communication, and connection at the heart of everything that she does.
